Among the museum's treasures, the Pine Burr quilt by Melinda Jane Still Flint (1833–1919) stood out for its remarkable use of color and its beautifully varied antique prints. Pat Sloan studied these motifs closely, bringing their essence forward in new, wearable shades of blue, wine, rose, beige, and cream.
